Band In Boston • The Nave Gallery • Rhode Island School of Design • Space Gallery
In April 2010, The Nave Gallery opens its exhibit, 'The Beast In Me—Johnny Cash: Art Influenced by the Struggle of a Man.' In conjunction with the exhibit, The Nave, Band In Boston, Rhode Island School of Design, and Space Gallery have organized a series of Johnny Cash tributes to benefit prison book programs.
We hope that this series of events will truly be a tribute to Johnny Cash. In this time of unemployment, poverty, and loss of hope, we certainly could use his spirit. Our intention is to celebrate the man and his music, to bridge communities, to promote prison literacy programs as well as the bands lending their talent to this good cause, and to have a heck of a good time doing it.
This tribute series was organized by Tony Confalone,
Joe Fletcher,
Jen Guthrie, Ian Paige, and Jenn Harrington. Special thanks to Natalie Hogan (RISD), Susan Berstler (The Nave), Gerard Amaral (P.A.'s Lounge), Bill Starman (The Elevens), and Mark Sheehan (The Elevens). |
